After Steve Kondik, aka Cyanogen, said that they were hoping to ship the CM12S update for the OnePlus One ‘in a day or two’ five days ago now, it looks like the update has finally received certification. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has advised via Twitter that the CM12S update for the OnePlus One has been certified and will begin rolling out in the next few days.

It’s been a fairly long road for the update, with OnePlus shipping their own home-brewed Lollipop based OS – OxygenOS – for the OnePlus One first. From all accounts though, the OxygenOS update is fairly bare bones, and we know that CM12S will carry all the features that OnePlus One and CyanogenMod devotees have come to know and love.

We should start seeing the push in the next few days, but it will be a fairly big update, with Steve Kondik advising the other day that the update will be a full system image as opposed to a full system update. The decision to do a full system image push is to convert phones to the new block-based format released in Android 5.0 which allows OEMs to update the partition format of the device.

Stay tuned, we’ll update as soon as anything is released for the OnePlus One.

Have you updated to OxygenOS or are you waiting for CM12S for your OnePlus One?
