For anyone that’s utilised XBMC in the past or has been keeping up to speed with the home media streaming market, you would be aware that XBMC (Xbox Media Center) morphed into Kodi last year. This was primarily driven from the fact that it was no longer just an Xbox based appliation, but available on multiple platforms including Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi (a specific build under Debian) and of course Android.
Kodi has an open Beta Community on Google+ as well as some very active forums that anyone is welcome to join, you’ll probably get some really cool ideas on how to use it in your digital life from some of the users there as a bonus.
It was initially on the forums that I found the news that the Kore “Official remote for Kodi” was finally available on the Play Store. Great news for those who like me, once their media center is setup don’t need a keyboard to control it; just a plain functional remote control.
The remote works really well and (so far in my testing) is very stable on phone or tablets, shows the currently playing media and give an easy option to create playlists.
What media streaming do you use in your home?
I’ve been using a great third-party remote app called Yatse
(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.leetzone.android.yatsewidgetfree)
It’s got a ton of great features. Highly recommend it!
Plex server, streaming to chromecast
What about it ? We know it exists and many of us use it but what does it have to do with this story ?
Because the author posed the question… or didn’t you read to the end?
Plex to Chormecast here too.
Try Yatse its a great remote for Kodi
Ahhh. Recently discovered Kodi on an Android media player. Magic. A new level of piracy.
