Remember that Android game console you purchased from Kickstarter? Rumour says that the company, which has been rumoured to be on shaky financial ground for a while now is about to be acquired by American computer peripheral manufacturer Razer = makers of the Razer Forge Android TV set top box.

This isn’t the first time that the company has been rumoured to be in talks to be acquired, with a sale to Alibaba rumoured to be in place in February. That sale has apparently not gone ahead, but Razer is interested, with ‘a person familiar with the matter’ advising that talks were happening, with the companies discussing ways to bring Ouya’s staff to Razer.onboard.

Razer hasn’t had massive uptake since the hugely successful Kickstarter launch, with the aging Tegra 3 processor powering the console not generally considered up to the task of handling many new games. The new Razer Forge on the other hand, is getting pretty decent reviews. Razer intends to release their Forge console here in Australia later this year, but no date has been announced as yet.

If the sale goes ahead, we should hear more about it in the near future.
