At their IFA press conference in Berlin, Asus has taken the wraps of the second generation ZenWatch 2, announcing the watch will be available in two different sizes and in three case options for just €149 or around $239 Australian dollars.
The watch will be available in two sizes, a smaller 1.45″ and 1.63″ but are both powered by the same hardware we’ve seen on other Android Wear devices in the past. The platform is again using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and comes with 4GB of on-board storage and 512MB of RAM.
The battery on the ZenWatch 2 will again be charged using the magnetic pogo clip but will provide a 2-day battery life says Asus. The battery will also quickly charge getting a 50% charge out of just 36 minutes of charging.

The ZenWatch 2 will be available in 3 colour options – Silver, Gunmetal, Rose Gold – to allow you that personal touch. Adding to the personalisation is the availability of 18 different strap material and colour combinations with rubber availabe in Blue, Orange, Red, and Taupe colors, the Leather in Khaki, Brown, Gray, Blue, and Orange colors while the Stainless steel band will be available in Silver, Gunmetal, or Rose Gold. There will also be a special Swarovski crystal edition watch band.
The watch runs Android Wear and Asus has added some extra features on top which you’ll get by installing additional applications on your paired smartphone in addition to the current features on the original ZenWatch such as the Remote Camera and Wellness assistant with daily and weekly progress updates. Asus has added :
- Smart Assistant – Timely notifcations of Important information right to your wrist.
- ZenWatch Message – Direct watch to Watch communication Excahange short messages and emojis

Also added to the mix is a Watch Face designer app which contains 50 professionally designed Watch Faces, the Face Designer App will also let you import your own pictures and create a watch face yourself.
Availability for the watch has only been announced for Europe where it will go on-sale starting at €149.
