Pixel C 03
When Google said they would launch their upcoming premium Pixel C tablet ‘In time for the holidays’ they set themselves up to take a fall if they didn’t follow through. With the time lessening between now and ‘the holidays’ a new rumour is pointing to the 8th of December as the launch date for the tablet.

According to Dutch site Tweakers, the Pixel C could be arriving on the Google Store in the Netherlands on the 8th of December, where the 32GB and 64GB variants of the tablet will sell for €499 and €599 respectively, while the keyboard accessory which provides inductive charging and connects via super-strong magnets will cost an additional €169.

Pricing for the tablets line up with the already announced US pricing for the tablets which will see them sold at $499 and $599 for the 32GB and 64GB models, with the keyboard attachment priced at $149. No Australian pricing or availability was announced, with Google simply telling us to ‘Stay tuned for more details’, but as the Netherlands was not part of the original rollout of the latest Nexus phones – and neither were we – so this does allow for some hope we may see the Pixel C launched globally, but we’re not holding our breath.

Google has always been cagey about release dates for devices, so we don’t expect to see any pre-warning before the release. Google’s head of Chrome, Android and Chromecast, Hiroshi Lockheimer is currently carrying a Pixel C with him, so the device is definitely in the hands of Googlers. How long it takes to get into the publics hands is anyones guess, but the holidays are fast approaching, so we’d prefer sooner rather than later.
