Aldi have a specail running on the 13th of May for a 58″ 4K Ultra High Definition LED LCD TV including a bonus Google Chromecast Ultra for only $799.

It’s a pretty decent spec TV with 4K resolution, low power use (given the size of the screen) HDMI input, USB playback and PVR capability. Of course with the bonus Chromecast Ultra you’ve got a stack more functionality available to you including Netflix, Stan, YouTube, Spotify and other casting apps via Google Play.

There are a few terms and conditions on the sale, so it may be worth if you’re interested; checking out with your local store if they’re going to stock this giant screen on the 13th.

If price isn’t a driving factor for you to move to 4K, what would get you over the line to upgrade your TV?

The one problem I have with these large screen TVs are the mounting feet being at the end and not in the center.

PS What’s happened to Ausdroid android app, been dead for weeks??

I got the 65″ Bauhn when Aldi was selling it. Was pleasantly surprised how good the picture quality is.

Product reviews on large Aldi TV’s aren’t that impressive. I know to some people $799 isn’t much to take the risk on, but its allot of money to me.
It all helps with competition, especially anything going against Kogan.

I would never buy a TV anyway without first taking a look at its picture quality/performance etc. So I think that’s where the bigger stores like HN, and TGG’s shine. Aldi needs display models tbh.

I think these ALDI specials usually come with a 60 day return option which means your can try it out in real world usage at home. That may be better than just seeing it turned on in the shop.

I’m not really interested in 4K anyway. I don’t see the point.
