Samsung Pay is extending its reach, announcing that Bendigo Bank customers can now choose to use Samsung Pay if they have an eligible debit or credit card, as well as the requisite handset.
Samsung has been on a bit of a tear of late, adding ANZ, as well as 38 other institutions associated with payment provider Cuscal in the last three months.
Bendigo Bank customers with the right debit or credit card, will also need a compatible Samsung device to use it on. Compatible devices include their wearables such as the Gear S3 and phones including the soon to be available Galaxy Note 8 as well as a number of other Galaxy phones. Setup is simple, with Bendigo allowing verification to come through their app.
Speaking about Samsung Pay, Bendigo Bank’s Chief Customer Officer, Marnie Baker, said
Our customers will be able to use Samsung Pay wherever contactless payments are accepted, meaning even more convenience in their everyday life. With technology evolving at a rapid pace we want to ensure we’re delivering, and partnering with other innovative organisations like Samsung to give our customers greater choice and the flexibility they’re looking for.
Australians with the right device can now use Samsung Pay with more than 40 financial institutions including Westpac, ANZ, Citibank and AMEX, as well as access loyalty cards on the go. This expansion is picking up big names, making it quite a viable option for payments.
