Pixel Day is merely hours away but that has not stopped the leaks from rolling in with a reseller inventory page spilling the beans on the Pixelbook.
The Pixelbook is Google’s new premium Chromebook and it set to be stacked to the gills with specs never seen before on a Chromebook. Now that Chromebooks can run Android apps these specs may well be required going forward.
The Pixelbook has a display of 12.3 inches but at this stage the resolution of it is unknown. The previous Pixel Chromebooks had a resolution of 2560 x 1700 pixels so we expect the 2017 model to at least match that resolution.
As previously leaked by DroidLife the PixelBook will come with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB hard drive sizes. It will also be powered by an Intel i5 processor but it is uncertain which generation it will be — we expect it to be 8th generation for a premium device released at this time of the year. The RAM is unknown but expect that to be over 4GB.
The pricing, as stated earlier today starts at $1199US for the 128GB version and is $1749US for the 512GB version. If it ever makes its way here expect that to climb significantly for Australian dollars.
9to5Google has also found mention of a “Google Clips” which is obviously some other form of hardware made by Google. They have speculated that it may be a 360 degree camera. How about a clip to allow attaching of the Pixel Pen to the Pixelbook?
It won’t be long until we know a lot more and I for one am counting down the hours until the start of the announcements. Remember, it begins at 3am tomorrow morning and can be viewed live on the Made by Google YouTube channel. We will be covering it live, here and on the ground in San Francisco so keep an eye on Ausdroid for all the latest from San Francisco.
Is anyone here thinking of picking themselves up a Pixelbook? How much are you willing to pay for a Pixelbook?
I’ve been waiting for this. Hope this makes its way to Australia. I need to replace my Pixel C tablet.
I was in the market for a convertible ChromeBook to use as a 2 in 1 ChromeBook/Android Tablet but had to get a Windows Laptop instead when I lost my long time job. If I had the chance, would consider the Pixelbook!

PS. Happy Pixel day!
