Google’s Gboard keyboard has picked up a new update overnight with a GIF Creator being added, allowing you to create your own visual response to send.

The addition is appearing v7.2 of the Beta version of Gboard – which you can join by clicking here. Once you’ve clicked the option to Opt In, the Beta takes a couple of minutes to register you’re in the program.

Once you’re on the Beta track and download the update you simply have to use Gboard, then click on the emoji icon (down near the spacebar) then tap on GIF. Once you’re there you’ll see a big ‘Make a GIF’ button with a ‘+’. Tap that and your camera app will open (with permission windows) and you can then start creating your own GIF.

You can use either the front or back camera with the Make a GIF function, with a couple of different overlays you can add to a GIF to match.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Not a bad inclusion, and it’s not stickers so we like it. If you’re a Gboard user you may want to try this yourself.
