It’s been a long time between drinks for fans of the Samsung Gear smartwatches, but the hype is building in the lead up to launch with leaks now surfacing about the watch with more regularity.
The latest series of leaks point to a larger battery being included in the Samsung Gear S4. Known leaker, Ice Universe has shared a post on Chinese social media site Weibo saying the watch would come with a 470mAh battery, a significant increase over the 380mAh battery in the Gear S3.
The Gear S4 is also looking likely to come in a new colour variant as well, with SamMobile posting about a new Gold colour option in addition to the Silver and Black colours. The Gear S4 will be available in two models – both with LTE – though only one of these will be offered with a Gold option.
In terms of when we’ll see the new smartwatch it’s unclear, though their Galaxy Note 9 launch is slated for August 9th (or August 2nd if you believe another rumour) or at another event in Berlin prior to the start of IFA. We’ve previously had good things to say about the Gear series of watches, so hopefully this is another great one – even if it isn’t running Wear OS.
