There’s a dollar amount beyond which ones eyes basically glass over, and reading Alphabet Inc’s quarterly earnings reports pretty much gets me there. It should be no surprise that Alphabet Inc makes a tonne of money, and for many, quarterly earning statements really aren’t too interesting.
However, for those who do like facts and figures, here’s the highlights from the Alphabet Inc Q4 2018 earnings report:
- Google and the other companies earned $39.27 billion, up 22% from the same quarter last year.
- Revenue is up 22% from $32.3 billion in Q4 2017, with net income at $8.94 billion for this quarter.
- For comparison, Alphabet reported $33.74 billion in revenue and a $9.19 billion in net income last quarter.
Major factors during Q4 2018 are the announcement of new Pixel devices, Google’s new Smart Home devices including Home Hub, and shuttering other devices like the Chromecast Audio.
