Periscope’s latest update allows users of the app the ability to invite up to three guests to participate in a talk-show broadcast.

The update, which is rolling out to Periscope users, allows guests of a users video broadcast to join the broadcast conversation via their own smartphone’s microphone, and can be heard by everyone who is tuning in.

Broadcasters can still read and respond to chats, but things get more interesting when multiple guests and followers can have a conversation together and share it with the world.

Kayvon Beykpour, Twitter’s Head of Product, said in a statement to Engadget that:

“With this launch, we’re enabling richer conversations by allowing viewers to call in, like a talk show, and join with their voice,” and that “This makes live conversations even more fluid, and allows for new possibilities and ways people can have conversations.”

Twitter is working on a way to let them share video in the broadcast instead of just the audio the current update enables. The company has also stated that it is working on bringing this feature to its Twitter users also, but no timeframe was given for both these updates to come trough.

If you’re a periscope user or broadcaster on the app, you can find out how to use this new feature here.
