While the undoubted star of Samsung’s Unpacked events is its premium smartphone lines, the company quite often launches other things at these events too.
It looks like at least one of the “other things” at Unpacked 2019 will be a new smartwatch, simply called Samsung Galaxy Sport. Now, we’ve got some great new renders of what this watch could look like.
We first saw the Galaxy Sport earlier this year, and now we can see it in black, blue and pink – a colour for every taste.
The design represents a bit of a .. backward step .. in Samsung’s watch design. The company’s recent watches, even though with a very sports focus, have had a very stylish, elegant design. The Galaxy Sport looks a lot more simplistic, and though it will undoubtedly appeal to some, others may think it’s a bit plain.
As the watch will most likely run Samsung’s own Tizen rather than anything else, the lack of a rotating bezel will make for a slightly different way of interacting with the watch. Tizen’s quite usable without the bezel, but not having the option to use it will be a bit of a change.
This watch looks like Samsung’s attempt to really take the fight to Apple’s Watch (which we might also looks like a fairly simple design), but will it be enough to be a viable challenger?

Multiple watch and Samsung Health app updates have not fixed the issue. Step counting is inaccurate, just like the floor tracking. Sleep monitoring is also way off. I’ve compared it with my Xiaomi Mi Band 2 which I wear on the other hand. Lots of complaints on Samsung US and EU support forums. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT IF YOU WANT WORKING FITNESS… Read more »
I’d take this over the Galaxy Watch. The dial is great, from what I hear, but I just prefer the understated look of this design.
