We already understand that Huawei’s next super smartphone is only weeks away, with a mooted launch in mid September. This won’t be the first time that Huawei has launched Mate early, nor in (continental) Europe, as those may recall the Mate 10 was launched a little earlier in Munich a couple of years ago.
Well, this year’s launch just got a little more likely, with Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro passing through the Bluetooth SIG and TENAA certification processes just recently.
Usually, when phones pass through TENAA and Bluetooth SIG, official photos / diagrams appear online shortly after, so it may not be long before we get confirmation that the devices known only as TAS-AL00 and LIO-AL00 are in fact the new Mate series handsets.
What do we know about the Mate 30 range? Well, for starters, we’ve heard from Huawei directly that it will launch with Android Q and EMUI 10, and most likely will include the company’s latest silicon in the form of the Kirin 990 SoC. There’s a good indication that Huawei will opt for 5G inclusion in at least one variant of the Mate 30 range (as it did with Mate 20), but whether that will be in the ‘standard’ range, or a special 5G variant, remains to be seen.
The only other things really known for sure are that the Mate 30 will feature a quad-sensor array on the rear, mounted in a centred, circular area with greater photographic prowess, following on from the P30 series.
We’ll find out in around 4 weeks when the Mate 30 series is rumoured to launch… and that’s not far away now.
Are you sure it’s a quad sensor? I see only 3 lenses and a flash in that circular arrangement.
