Google Stadia’s launch lineup announced — still not coming here yet

Google’s streaming game platform, Stadia, is launching next week and until now it was mostly speculation with a few confirmations as to which games would be available upon first release. Today Google have released the 12 games that will be available on launch day along with a list of games expected by the end of the year.

Those with a Stadia Pro subscription will be able to play Destiny 2: The Collection and for those willing to purchase the games the lineup to choose from on launch day will include:

• Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
• Destiny 2: The Collection
• GYLT
• Just Dance 2020
• Kine
• Mortal Kombat 11
• Red Dead Redemption 2
• Thumper
• Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
• Rise of the Tomb Raider
• Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
• SAMURAI SHODOWN

As yet Google have not announced pricing for any of these games but from next Tuesday users in supported countries (not Australia just yet) will be able to purchase then from the Stadia app.

While it does not seem like very enticing to subscribe to Stadia Pro just yet it is still unclear if any of these games will be added to the subscription list — even if only temporary. Google have also provided a list of games expected in November and December of this year and there are some more big names in there as well:

• Darksiders Genesis
• DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2
• Farming Simulator 19
• FINAL FANTASY XV
• Football Manager 2020
• Ghost Recon Breakpoint
• GRID

• NBA 2K20
• RAGE 2
• Trials Rising
• Wolfenstein: Youngblood

These dates are “subject to change” and may join the titles coming next year including Doom: Eternal, WatchDogs: Legion, Gods & Monsters and Cyberpunk 2077.

Of course here in Australia we will have to officially wait, watch and see how the US and other supported countries fare with the new streaming gaming platform next week. Unofficially you can be sure that Aussies will be joining forces with many other unsupported countries to figure out ways around the geoblock.
