Xiaomi is continually increasing its product offering, and after many years of tinkering in smart bands / fitness bands, the company is continuing its move into full on smart watches following the announcement late last year of the first Mi Watch.

This week, Xiaomi announced a Wear OS-powered smartwatch called the Mi Watch Color, and while little was disclosed at the time, we’ve now got the full specs, and it sounds like a great watch for an even greater price.

The Mi Watch Color (and yes, it does have an American spelling) features a 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display, with a silicone strap that can be replaced from a range of six further silicone straps and two leather options. Like many smart / fitness bands, it tracks almost a dozen sports and activities.

Like many Wear OS-based watches, it also includes GPS functionality, Bluetooth 5.0 for better connectivity, NFC for wireless payments, heart rate and sleep tracking too. It’s waterproof to 5 ATM so it’ll be at home wherever you happen to be.

With a claimed 14-day battery life, I’m certainly curious to know more .. given Wear OS is notoriously poor for battery longevity.

Xiaomi’s Mi Watch Color is available in black, silver and gold and a variety of strap options. While it’s available in China now for CNY 799, there’s no word on when (if) it will come out internationally. However, with so much of Xiaomi’s stuff becoming available internationally, we can only hope this is too.

So it’s full Wear OS and you can install Wear OS apps on it? AND is has 14 day battery life? There’s no way that can be right, surely?

Guess

It’s already available on AliExpress for $202 AUD
