Foxtel knows that Sports subscribers are missing their live sport, and has heard the feedback loud and clear – free access to other content isn’t quite enough, and with the price of the sports subscription, perhaps Foxtel should give everyone access to free movies for a while.
Well, that’s exactly what Foxtel has done. Until 30 June 2020 (for now), Foxtel has given sports subscribers access to the Movies pack, for free, to help fill in the time with some Foxtel action.
Foxtel would be hoping to keep its revenue base during this time where lots of sports subscribers quite likely rang (or may still ring) Foxtel requesting that the sports package be disabled for now. I know I’ve certainly contemplated it.
However, with free access to Foxtel’s (almost) entire channel pack, I don’t see a huge reason to cancel anything for the time being; those extra channels may well be useful in keeping the kids entertained for just a bit longer while we endure our (not quite) lock down in Australia.
Sports subscribers will get access to the full Foxtel Movies pack for the next three months, including
- 10 dedicated Movies channels – Movies Premiere, Movies Kids, Movies Family, Movies Action, Movies Comedy, Movies Drama, Movies Thriller, Movies Hits, Movies Greats and Movies Romance
- Thousands of hours of movies on demand from Foxtel’s catalogue of some 1,000 movies or more
- Continued access to sport, including archive specials, new documentaries, pop-up channels and more
To be clear, this free Movies Pack is only available to existing residential Sport customers, and those customers with active Foxtel Now Sport subscriptions.
Still nothing for Kayo subscribers despite the erroneous article on this site claiming a discounted monthly fee 🙁
Are the offering anything for those on Platinum Plus package who already have Movies and Sport?
