Telstra has decided to offer a 6 month discount for eligible consumer and small business customers currently receiving the JobSeeker payment, to relieve some of their financial burden.
If you have a Telstra fixed bundle service and/or multiple Telstra post-paid mobile services you may receive a single $20 per month discount off your total bill for six months, while those with a single Telstra post-paid mobile service may receive a $10 per month discount off their bill for six months.
The offer will be open to apply for from 20 April until 30 June, 2020, unless extended. More details on how to apply for the discount are available via the Telstra website.
As an alternative approach, if you’re on Jobseeker and have a Telstra Postpaid mobile account that doesn’t owe any handset payments and isn’t under contract any, you should consider porting your number to a BOOST Mobile prepaid monthly or long expiry option and save money every month forever.
As we explained recently BOOST is the only Telstra Prepaid provider which has access to the full Telstra 3G/4G network, while charging you a lot less than Telstra Postpaid plans. The BOOST long expiry plans are especially good value for money (if you have the cash to pay for one upfront).
Terms & Conditions
- If you cancel your eligible plan, or stop receiving the JobSeeker payment, the discount will be removed from your bill.
- To determine your eligibility for this offer, Telstra will need your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN), and by proceeding with the application, you authorise them to disclose your details with the relevant government body from time to time to determine eligibility.
- Your CRN tied to your JobSeeker payment must be held in the same name as your Telstra account.
