We have all wanted Google to release a Pixel Watch for a long time but it does not look that is going ot happen any time soon. The next best bet in the Android space, given their proficiency with the Android software, would be OnePlus and it looks like that is set to happen very soon.
The other day we saw OnePlus CEO Pete Lau tell InputMag that OnePlus were indeed working with Google on a Wear OS smartwatch. Overnight though Pete has taken to Twitter to be more precise with the smartwatch’s timeline:
Many of you said you wanted a watch, and as you might have heard over the weekend—we're making one, to be released early next year. Wishes do come true.🎁 https://t.co/H1Fqv9srXj

Given early next year is the statement from Mr Lau we expect the OnePlus Watch to arrive in Q1 of 2021 and given OnePlus’ penchant for high end specs we expect it to arrive with the latest and greatest hardware onboard — especially the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100.
Q1 may also mean that it arrives alongside the OnePlus 9 which we here at Ausdroid doubt as we are sure OnePlus would like their first smartwatch announcement to stand alone and not be overshadowed by any other product announced at the same time.
2021 is shaping up to be a much better year than 2020 (that wouldn’t be hard) and with OnePlus set to release a Wear OS watch we can’t wait for it to start. I can’t wait to check out what OnePlus can do with Wear OS — how about you?
