Sandisk has created a great gadget that combines something smartphone owners do every day or two (recharging the battery) with something a lot of people never do (backing up their phone files).
Western Digital’s new Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync reimagines the capabilities of the traditional Qi wireless charger, offering peace of mind and the experience of waking up to a fully charged and backed-up phone.
The Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync makes the perfect accessory gift for a family member or friend who never backs up their phone, is clumsy so they often drop things or forgetful so they often lose things.
Providing local storage in capacities up to 128GB, the Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync allows for fast wireless charging, while automatically backing up photos and videos, freeing up valuable space on your device.
Sairam Challa, product marketing manager for SanDisk said:
“In today’s mobile-driven world, our customers rely on fully-powered and backed up mobile devices to stay connected, informed and entertained”.
“The SanDisk brand is known for offering trusted solutions, and we are thrilled to expand our portfolio to include the world’s first wireless charger with automatic local backup, making consumers’ lives more convenient and simple.”
The Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync is compatible with AirPods Pro, iPhone 8 and up, Samsung Galaxy S7 and up, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and up, and other Qi-compatible phones even through most cases up to 3mm thick.
The auto backup feature requires a wireless connection, Ixpand Wireless Charger app (that is user registered and logged into), and a device with iOS 11 or above or Android 5.0 or above.
The Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync comes with temperature control, foreign object detection and adaptive charging to help keep your phone battery safe.

I think this product is a great idea, the only flaw is that 64GB and 128GB capacities are not very big, especially if shared between 3 family members. It would be good if Sandisk offered larger 256GB and 512GB options.
yeah the price to storage is a bit high 512gb should be the baseline really, 3 profiles is a bit odd also when most tech base family product do 6
So.. is this a Sandisk product or a Western Digital product? I’m confused?
WD owns SanDisk. So kind of yes and yes
