We heard back in June that the Google Pixel Buds A was coming, now we know they’re coming to Australia. They’re available to pre-order now on the Google Store for $159, or if you’re willing to wait for the retailers – they’ll be availble form the 25th of August.

For anyone who has, or considered purchasing the previous version they will look very familiar. Where the Pixel Buds A take a step up over previous generations is the fit and sound:

To experience the full range of the speaker’s capabilities, especially in the low frequencies, a good seal is essential. We’ve scanned thousands of ears to make Pixel Buds A-Series fit securely with a gentle seal. In order to keep the fit comfortable over time, a spatial vent reduces in-ear pressure.

It’s not just the ear canal that is set to fit, with the stabilising “wings” remain to ensure the buds stay in your ear and are balanced for comfort. The buds are said to last a comfortable 5 hours of playback with 19 more in the case’s battery. The case charges by USB-C and it is worth noting, this time around; no wireless charging.

Google has done their part, making sure your investment can stand up to daily life with an IPX4 rating so a bit of rain won’t hurt. There’s also the Tech21 EvoSlim, a lightweight case to shield your smallest tech from drops and scratches at $24.99 from the Google Store.

Stay tuned to the site for our review, coming soon.

Ordered mine already. Nice to see that the price, once GST is added, is pretty much the same as US prices at current exchange rates.
