A few days ago, we saw the leaked images and video of the upcoming Fitbit Charge 5. In a bit of a surprise, it was closer to launch than expected, in fact, today we have the details including the fact it will start shipping late September.
Along with the improved functionality and features, comes — unsurprisingly — an increased price with the device landing at $269.95 in Australia: Available for pre-order now.
The renders we saw a few days ago were on the money, with the device looking sleek and nicely rounded with multiple colours to choose from. The timing is perfect for Fitbit who have recently partnered with movie and music superstar, Will Smith. In one of Smith’s Instagram posts earlier this year, he noted that he’s in the worst shape of his life. Now he’s followed up (paid partnership) that he’s utilising some of the tools Fitbit are providing, to track and work towards getting his health back on track.
As part of this, Smith will be utilising the features carried over, advanced and of course new features in the Fitbit Charge 5 including:
- Up to 7 days battery life
- Stress tracking
- Daily Activity and Workout Tracking
- A host of features on the Premuium platform
Among the premium and new features is daily readiness which tells you how physically ready (based on recent workouts, stress and sleep) as well as structured workouts from, and with partners like Will Smith himself as you share his journey.
