The Diablo franchise is a wonder of the gaming world, surviving generations of computers and gamers alike. Recently we’ve seen the Diablo II Resurrected, Diablo IV in the works and soon: Diablo Immortal, a mobile and desktop platform MMORPG. There’s a lot going on with this only a month or so away, now we know a lot more.
The game will be released on mobile platforms and on Windows at the start of June to a number of regions with APAC following a few weeks later. Impressively, the game will allow users to shift between a desktop environment and mobile seamlessly. This extends further to the controls which are customised for your platform of choice:
On top of the hand-crafted fluid touch controls on mobile, Diablo Immortal will also have integrated controller support. For those who choose to play on PC, there will be traditional Diablo point-and-click keyboard and mouse functionality and WASD character movement for the first time in the franchise.
Players familiar with the game and mechanics will recognise and be instantly comfortable with the character classes available: Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, and Wizard. All of which you’ll have to build up from scratch offering new challenges to even seasoned players.
Diablo Immortal will be free-to-play with optional in-game purchases, ensuring the core game experience will always be free. That experience will be evolving, exciting and diverse each time with over 30 million players — myself included — pre-registered to begin the battle.
