Samsung has launched its latest smartwatches, the new Galaxy Watch5 and the Galaxy Watch5 Pro, in which the company has stated will bring with them health and wellness habits with intuitive insights, advanced features, and even more powerful capabilities whilst leading in holistic health innovation.

The Galaxy Watch5 looks to further enhance the features that consumers rely on every day where as the Galaxy Watch5 Pro – the newest smartwatch device category in its Galaxy Watch portfolio Samsung’s most durable and feature packed smartwatch.

Galaxy Watch5

The new Galaxy Watch5 features a comprehensive end-to-end experience that goes beyond fitness activities and into the post-workout, rest, and recovery process. Some of these features the Galaxy Watch5 comes with include the Body Composition measurement tool which looks to help users get and provide a complete snapshot of the user’s overall health whilst also providing users with a tailored approach to set goals alongside providing personalised workouts and track their progress much more easily.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Watch5 comes with the ability to provide recovery data, including post-cardio heart rate after an intense workout whilst also providing enhanced customised recommendations on water consumption based on sweat loss.

The Galaxy Watch5 also looks to provide users more information to ensure they have a better night’s sleep by allowing users to understand their sleep patterns through Sleep Scores that monitor stages of sleep, along with snore detection and blood oxygen levels. Furthermore, users can look to improve their sleep habits with advanced Sleep Coaching which looks to provide a
tailored month-long guided program.

The Galaxy Watch5 comes with Samsung’s SmartThings integration which can automatically set connected lights, AC units, and TVs to predetermined settings that make for an ideal sleep environment. The Galaxy Watch5 also comes with a fall detection feature that can contact an emergency contact and notify them if the user stumbles at home or falls out of bed.

In terms of battery power, the Galaxy Watch5 comes with a 13% bigger battery than the Galaxy Watch4, its predecessor, which Sam;sung states can provide up to eight hours of sleep tracking
with just eight minutes of charge.

For extra durability and usability, the Galaxy Watch 5 first smartwatch display to feature a Sapphire Crystal display whilst One UI Watch4.5 comes with further enhancements which a full typing experience, an easier way to make calls, and a host of new accessibility features that make the Galaxy Watch5 incredibly intuitive.

Lastly, Samsung has stated the Galaxy Watch5 will come soon with the ability to find your way using Google Maps from your wrist without a smartphone connection, though again this feature is described as “coming soon” with no time frame specified. Lastly, you will be able to cue up your favourite song on Spotify simply by using your voice with Google Assistant.

Galaxy Watch5 Pro

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro is the newest addition to the Galaxy Watch portfolio of smartwatches, with the Galaxy Watch5 Pro coming with Samsung’s Sapphire Crystal display that
resists wear and tear alongside a durable titanium casing that protects the display with a protruded bezel design.

The Galaxy Watch5 Pro also comes with an all new D-Buckle Sport Band that Samsung states will offer rugged durability whilst providing a sleek and clean fit for the user.

Samsung has stated that the Galaxy Watch5 Pro comes with a 60% larger battery than the Galaxy Watch4 and also comes with GPX which the Galaxy Watch5 Pro will be the first ever Galaxy Watch to offer this feature.

Furthermore, Galaxy Watch5 Pro users will be able to record and share their hike with fellow trail lovers on the Samsung Health app with Route Workout. Furthermore, hiking and cycling routes as you practice for your next race or simply switch up your routine.

Users of the Galaxy Watch5 Pro will also be able to get intuitive Turn-by-turn directions without the need to take your eyes away from the trail ahead and when your ready to head home, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro will get you there thanks to the new Trackback feature that takes you back the way you came.
