The new Kobo Elipsa 2E is a refreshed version of the Kobo Elipsa eReader which was launched in mid 2021.
So what has changed? There’s a better now rechargeable note taking pen (Kobo Stylus 2), new faster processor, better ComfortLight, more eco design and better notetaking experience.
And lastly the new e-book reader comes with a new Kobo Elipsa 2E SleepCover, which, as the name suggests, puts the e-reader to sleep when you close the cover.
With the launch of Kobo Elipsa 2E, Kobo says they are continuing its commitment to providing unparalleled eReading devices built with certified recycled materials whenever possible while meeting technical product requirements. The exterior of Kobo Elipsa 2E is made with more than 85% recycled plastic, including 10% ocean-bound plastic.
Similar the optional SleepCover is made with 97% recycled plastic, including 10% ocean-bound plastic that would otherwise become landfill and ocean waste.
Beyond the device, the packaging is magnet-free, made with FSC-certified recycled paper and printed with soy ink.
Michael Tamblyn, CEO, Rakuten Kobo commented about the launch:
“Kobo Elipsa 2E is the latest step in our journey to make reading lives better, bridging gaps between print and digital books, and offering an unparalleled reading experience”.
“We understand that, for many of our valued customers, reading is more than words on a page. It is about engaging with ideas. Marking up, highlighting, capturing inspiration in infinite notebooks of almost magical capability using a versatile, intuitively-designed stylus – these are essential for capturing the thoughts and ideas that reading inspires.”
