Over time I’ve spent a lot — let’s say waaaay too much — of money on keyboards. Some have died through abuse excessive use, others haven’t delivered what I wanted and some have simply been moved on for something better. Since reviewing the Angry Miao Compact Touch, I’ve not been tempted by anyting; until now.
The OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro is a collaborative work from OnePlus and Keychron. It combines the design stylings of OnePlus and the know how of Keychron to deliver a really nice looking keyboard that will do what the majority of users will want. It comes in two different versions, Winter Bonfire and Summer Breeze. Each had differing keycaps and switches for a unique look and feel within the same core design.
A couple of highlight features are the slider to — through programming and software — give you the power to shut out distractions, allow prioirty notifications or have an open slather for interruptions. The other is the programmable rotary knob, that can be set for specific functions as desired.
Also offering wired or wireless connectivity, it’ll suit just about any use case, even gaming. It’s got a lot to offer users who are after a good looking, comfortable keyboard for multiple uses. The initial release is USA and Canada with pricing yet to be announced, and we hope with potential for further regional releases in the future.
A hacked down keyboard, like this OnePlus, is not something I’d waste time trying to get one to try to use.
If doesn’t have all the keys of a full size PC keyboard, it’s useless to me.
