Australian Electronics retailer Millennius has entered the wearables market, offering pre-sales of the Millennius SmartQ smartwatch – a watch running Android 4.3.
Running what seems to be a full version of Android, the SmartQ watch has a 1.54″ 240×240 resolution capacative display which is powered by a 1GHz low-power processor that they claim is specifically designed for wearable devices, to that end they’ve included a seemingly tiny 300mAh battery. The 1GHz CPU is backed up with 512MB RAM and 4GB of on-board storage and has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
The SmartQ watch comes with IPX7 certification – which basically means that the watch has no dust resistance but is protected against the effect of immersion in water in depths between 15cm and 1m.
The Millennius SmartQ seems to be offering a number of functions that other smartwatches offer including receiving notifications from your phone and the ability to reject phone calls. As well as notifications, the watch appears to have calendar, music and other applications like WeChat and voice recorder built-in and can receive weather and news notifications as well.
There seems to have been a little interest in the Smart Q watch over on XDA-Developers where it seems to have shown up in around October last year.
The watch is currently available for pre-order at this stage, with Millennius listing the shipping date as January 31st, it’s available in 3 colours – Black, Red and Blue. If you’re interested in this head on over to the Millennius website and pre-order now.
It’s shipped with 4.4 now.
Have you got yours yet? Mine was also shipped 5 days ago but still hasn’t arrived.
Nope, not yet. >.< My story is exactly the same as yours.
Mine now says in transit with Australia post do should be there when I get home today.
Lucky. My tracking doesn’t even work yet. “No events currently found.”
Mine was like that. It has now arrived. First thing to do is download snappea for Windows then install the latest gapps to get play store gmail etc. Can’t verify this yet but I have installed an app through snappea connected to Windows pc via usb on Windows 8.1
mine came all installed for me to get those apps.. Love this, its so good.
Mines currently stuffed after installing the latest v3.1. Need to get into a Windows 7 machine to fix it cos Windows 8.1 doesn’t work with android debugging. The only thing I don’t like about the watch is that there is no information when you get a notification do you still have to check your phone to see what the notification is. My Qualcomm toq gives me most of the email our whatever the notification is so there’s no need to check the phone.
Pre-ordered. 🙂
Is anyone thinking of getting one of these? I’d love it as long as the battery lasted more than a day
from what they are saying, it should last from 5-12 days depending on how much of it is being used every day
Well if it goes that long I will deff get this.. Looks great for $99
what the! thats awesome dude
That was kind of a random comment.
