Google has publicly come out and advised developers that until the official Android Wear watchface API is made available, they shouldn’t be releasing watchfaces. But that hasn’t, and knowing Android developers, will not stop them from doing it.
There’s a range of options, which include a couple of standouts which do more than simply supply a watchface. Like WearFaces. Wearfaces gives you three watchfaces, but then allows you to create your own WatchFace by uploading 4 pictures based on a template you find on www.wearfaces.com.
Apart from that, most of the Android Wear entries below appear to be simple watchfaces. They’re all available on Google Play, check them out and let us know which is your favourite and if there’s any we’ve missed.
It appears that one of our personal favourites – Starwatch – has been removed from Google Play. Don’t worry though, you can still grab your LCARS themed watch face from over at XDA-Developers where the APK is available.
My Current Pebble Watchface – http://www.watchface-generator.de/wf/20140727/numloxx_living_dreamjuly14/
usually flick between Helvetia – stock analogue face (with day & date), better watch face (digital).
I like Watchface for Wear (Squares Clean) – but the cards cover half the screen which makes reading the time difficult.
Until the API is released and we see some better designed faces I’m reluctant to try many of them.
Thats one impressive list. I’ll be linking to this for awhile I think
