Fashion brand Michael Kors has today announced the Sofie and Grayson Android Wear smartwatches, which will join the existing Bradshaw and Dylan models in their range.
Details on the specs of the watches are scant, but with this launch, Michael Kors is going after mens and womens markets with specific models for each. Both watches will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC and feature a touchscreen display and use magnetic charging.
The Sofie is aimed at the womens market with a sleek and ‘feminine’ design which has a lightweight body and a jewel encrusted ‘pavé’ bezel surrounding the fully round display. The Sofie will be customisable with eight different ‘plating-and-bracelet combinations’ as well as offering a choice of seven straps that have quick-release function to make them easy to swap between.
The Grayson is aimed at men, it’s again a fully round display, which features a rotating crown for scrolling. The watch has a ‘sporty’ look but also speaks of luxury. The Grayson will come in different colour options including ‘gold-tone, stainless steel, and blue and black ion-plate’. Four interchangeable bands will be on offer in leather, silicone and stainless steel.
Both the Sofie and Grayson will run Android Wear 2.0 which will feature enhanced fitness tracking. Michael Kors watches all come with a range of exclusive Michael Kors display watch faces that include options for ‘hundreds’ of display face, colour and sub dial combinations. The Michael Kors My Access app will also allow owners to link their Instagram account and set a personal post photo as a watch face and even apply filters from the wrist.
Availability dates and pricing for the watches hasn’t been announced but we’ll be talking with Michael Kors Australia tomorrow about details.
