Watchmaker Nixon has released something of a mid-season refresher for their Android Wear running Mission smartwatch, releasing stainless steel options for the watches in three colours for $679.99.
It’s now almost a year since Chris reviewed the Nixon Mission in its original form, but the silicone rubber watch band and sporty looking case weren’t quite ‘stylish’ enough and now we get the Nixon Mission SS in three colours – Gold, Silver and Black with a stainless steel band to match the body.
Of the three colours listed on the Australian website, only the Gold coloured option is in-stock and ready to ship, with the Black and Silver options only available to notify you when they’re in stock.
The specs are the same as the original with a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 4GB storage, 512MB RAM and a 1.39-inch, 400 x 400 AMOLED display with the big feature being the 10 Atmosphere depth the watch can descend to making it perfect for divers.
If you’ve been wanting a classier version of the Nixon Mission, then you can head over to the Nixon Australia website where the Mission SS is now available to order (in Gold).
If this thing had NFC I’d actually consider upgrading my LG Urbane to it for the waterproofing aspect. At the moment none of the new Android Wear watches are are impressive enough to make me want to switch though ?

Yep. You’ll have to excuse me, head cold means I’m a bit off. Fixed!
