The Huawei Watch, and the Huawei Watch 2 have been some of our favourite devices since the launch of Android Wear and every new model brings new tech and for now, a new look. With the Huawei Watch 2 now a year old, questions were asked recently about when the Watch 3 – and the answer is not soon.

The question of a third Huawei Watch was asked of Huawei CEO Richard Yu by TechRadar, who said they are in no hurry to release it, with Mr Yu saying

It will come later – there’s no hurry because Huawei Watch 2 sells well. We’re not in a hurry, so we’re launching the new watch later.

The original Huawei Watch was one of the more classic looking time pieces released with Android Wear. The Huawei Watch 2 went with a more sporty look, adding in an LTE radio and NFC to show off the new capabilities of the Android Wear 2.0 platform. With Android Wear 3.0 looking likely to be released soon, a Huawei Watch 3 could come after that, but given the original Huawei Watch arrived some time after the initial launch of Android Wear, it could be a while yet before we see it.

I’ve got the 1 but screen burn-in is getting worse and worse. There isn’t anything on the market that appeals to me currently so if the screen gets too bad to use I’ll probably go back to my plain old analogue until the HW3 or something good comes out.

Happy with the 1.0 model. Thought 2.0 limited it to a particular look. If I’d wanted that kind of device I’d have bought one. Please pick an audience.

Yeah, I’ve got the 1. The 2 is definitely not to my tastes, but the 1 is a great-looking watch. I don’t really make the most of its capabilities – I’m still not convinced there’s any real point to a smartwatches – but I got it for $180 (down from are-you-fkn-serious $550), so I’m happy.
