One of the first watches running the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor has arrived in Australia with the Fossil Sport now available to order online.
The watch was announced back in November last year, and it’s now available from the Fossil Australia website, though not apparently in-store just yet.
Pricing starts at $429 for both the 41mm and 43mm case options, with six coloured silicone bands (Red, Neon, Light Blue, Gray, Black and Blush) available for the 41mm option, while just two colours of silicone band (Black & Smoky Blue) are available for the 43mm case size.
The bands are interchangeable with the 41mm case using 18mm bands, while the 43mm case uses 22mm bands.
As well as the Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor the watch includes 4GB of on-board storage as well as a heart-rate sensor, untethered GPS, NFC for Google Pay and other sensors including an Altimeter, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Ambient Light, Microphone as well as 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
There’s free shipping from the Fossil Australia website to anywhere in Australia if you want to order one. We’re hoping to have a review of a Fossil Sport up as soon as possible to see how the Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor goes.
It was available in the Fossil Store in Sydney CBD last week
There doesn’t seem to be any improvement with the Wear 3100 SoC so the Ticwatch C2 seems like better value at $299.
Wear 3100 isn’t faster, just more power efficient. Wear OS is in a sad state atm.
Been available for weeks, I bought one new years eve. While it is very well made and comfortable, WearOS is full of bugs, it is slow, laggy, Assistant works on the second try, notifications were inconsistent, Google pay didn’t work once. Returned it to fossil on the weekend for a full refund. Very sad.
