After JK Shin yesterday confirmed that the Galaxy Note 8 would be announced at Mobile World Congress in February, SamMobile have been tipped with a photo of what appears to be advertising material for the Galaxy Note 8 which also includes specifications, some of the specs listed by SamMobile aren’t included on the box and of course nothing is final till the announcement is made but this is what it looks like :

It certainly does have a lot of bezel on there and really looks like a super large SGS III, there doesn’t appear to be a flash included on the camera but really it’s a tablet so photos should be the last of your worries. The other thing I saw on there was the phone icon which indicates the tablet will actually have phone capabilities or more likely this is just a render with a stock Touchwiz screenshot added in, all I can say is that the 8″ form factor with S-Pen could be a fantastic idea, we’ll just have to wait and see. What do you think?

hmmm, i’d rather wait to see what 7 or 8″ Tegra 4 devices come out.

Not too sure about this….why does it use the Spanish term for specifications (especificaciones) but the screen image is English? Why does the screen show the weather for London and not Madrid? Why is the screen the same screen used to promote the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7″? And the screen ratio seems to be 16:10? Hmmmm….not too sure….

Ben

Not saying it isn’t a hoax (i beleive it is), but i’m running 4.2 on my galaxy nexus and it’s factory default setting for weather location was London until I set its location.

Ian Aspinall

Is it a hoax – where’s the S-Pen? If I look at the back of my note it is very obvious…

In regards to the phone application, I was just checking out the Galaxy Note 10.1 at Telstra, and that also has one. Can it pair with a phone and take calls?

Stance

No 4G? 🙁

i dont think bazel is large…compared to ipad or other tablets

Tom

I’d take an xperia tablet z over this every day of the week. Will Samsung ever aim for a premium feeling product over their current cheap plastic feel?

Sean Royce

Not just that, the touchwiz overlay on tablets is soooooo slow.

Altechi

Well both tablets are aimed at different markets. One is 10.1 and more expensive while this one is more budget.

Not touching this one though

Tom

Oh I completely understand that. I just think if you’re trying to take a share of the market away from say the iPad mini or the Nexus 7 then Samsung need to really refine themselves. It just seems that they’re redelivering the same boring design, build and functions over and over again. I can see Sony or LG completely overtaking them within 1 or 2 years.

Jason

It also has the slit at the top for the phone component.
