Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition
We first heard the rumour of the Galaxy Note 10.1(2014) launching on Telstra late last month and today the national Telco has advised that the tablet is now available on their 4G network.

The tablet is the 4G variant of the high end Galaxy tablet offering speeds up to 150Mbps on the Telstra 4G Network. The tablet is available on a variety of plans beginning from just $52 per month with no monthly device repayments and 1GB of data included :

With a 10.1” Full HD WQXGA TFT screen running a resolution of 1600×2560 it’s a big step from the previous model which was had only a 800×1280 resolution screen. This jump in resolution is backed up by a 2.3GHz Quad-core Processor and 3GB RAM, with 16GB internal memory which is expandable via MicroSD cards you should have no problem viewing HD quality video on the tablet. For those dedicated tablet happy snappers, an 8MP rear camera with Auto-Focus has been included as well as a 2MP front-facing camera for video conferencing.

The tablet features a ‘Classic Leather-like Notebook design’ similar to that found on the Galaxy Note 3 and like the Phablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1(2014) is also compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch.

If you’re in the market for a stylus driven tablet with a data plan, the Galaxy Note 10.1(2014) is about your best option in Australia. Head over to the Telstra website to check it out.

Hi I recently bought the non 4G version the octo-core wifi only version from Harvey Norman. Its laggy for some reason and needs to be rebooted occaisionaly. So this 4G one may be better. Screen quality on both is excellent.
The new video app that Samsung provides is a very poor app compared to their previous version. It starts and stops when viewing videos for some reason. It also doesn’t work properly when viewing lots of video on live preview. Don’t understand Samsung.
But the rest of the tablet is great.

Seems there is a recent but disturbing trend on Samsung devices of not having or very little custom( (aosp-based) rom support…

I don’t suppose you would know what the outright price is for this, thinking of getting one but I don’t like contracts, prefer the pay upfront.
