A new update to the Google app and mobile Google.com website is rolling out to users in the US adding shortcuts to search that will let you access information faster.
The shortcuts are grouped under a variety of different headings with shortcuts to Weather, Entertainment, Sports and places to Eat & Drink on the front page, and options to dig deeper into more shortcuts to find things Nearby like cafe’s, Bars and Restaurants, or see what’s on at the cinema or on TV. You can even find links to your personal stuff like what’s on your schedule, or upcoming flights – or if you’re looking for fun, there are shortcuts like tic-tac-toe, roll a die, animal sounds, solitaire and lots, lots more.
Google has put together a short promo reel for the new shortcuts which you can check out here:
Google has said this is starting today in the US, but hasn’t fully confirmed that it will be coming to other countries as yet, but it’s likely it will. The updated search shortcuts do require an updated Google app to work, but by the time it rolls around here in Australia you’ll probably have that taken care of.
