Back in September, it was announced that Google had purchased Nik Software, makers of the powerful image editing software for iOS called Snapseed. Well the good news is that the software is now available for download on your Android device in the Google Play Store.

The app lets you edit photos, doing such things as Straighten and Crop before adding filters and sharing the results to your favourite social networking site although being Google owned, Nik have definitely added a heavy Google+ Sharing slant to the application. It looks very beautiful and is definitely worth a look if you’re into photography at all.

The app is free to download but is a hefty 24MB Download which also requires your device to be running Android 4.0 and above so all those Gingerbread devices are unfortunately ineligible to get the software.
