One of the hard things to find with a Smartphone is a nice wallpaper. Happily, device manufacturers, Google and ROM makers make a variety of wallpapers which are pretty much available to find on the Internet. What developer Donnatus has done, with a new app called Droidpack Wallpapers, is give you a central point to find, download and set them as the wallpaper on your Android device.
Droidpack Wallpapers contains over 500 wallpapers for you to choose from, and there’s a selection from Google, including wallpapers from stock Android 4.4, 4.3 and Android 3.x. You will also find wallpapers from a range of ROM makers such as Cyanogen Mod and Paranoid Android and device manufacturers Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, Motorola, Oppo, Nubia, OnePlus, Meizu and Huawei. Now, if that’s not enough and you’re looking for something way off the beaten path, then you can also choose wallpapers from iOS 7 and iOS 8 (pretty sure Apple won’t be happy about that).
You can quite happily download a variety of the wallpapers for use at a later time, or you can just set the wallpaper of your choice as your own from within the app.
The app is free on Google Play, it’s ad supported but other than that it’s just sitting ready to supply you with some neat wallpapers. The wallpapers appear to be sized correctly for your device when you download them (case in point the LG G3 wallpapers look quite good on my sub mereFullHD screen). Droidpack Wallpapers is available for devices running Android 2.3.3 and upwards, it’s a 7.5MB download, but you won’t find the wallpapers in the app, you have to download them.
It’s a cool app, so check it out and see what you think. We’re hoping that there’s some updates to the app, with earlier Android versions coming soon.
