There’s less than a month to go until competitors gather in PyeongChang, South Korea for the 23rd Winter Olympics. Samsung, as official Wireless Communications Equipment and Computing Equipment partner for the games has announced a limited edition Winter Olympics themed Note 8 which will be given away to competitors, as well as IOC and POCOG staff.

The phone will have the same hardware that makes the Note 8 a spectacular device including the bezel-less 6.3-inch Infinity Display, dual-sensor camera and of course the versatile S Pen. The phone will have the same black front, but is themed for the Winter Olympics with ‘shiny white’ coloured rear glass and the iconic Olympic rings emblazoned in gold towards the bottom of the phone and a matching white S Pen.

A selection of ‘useful apps’ and pre-loaded PyeongChang 2018 themed wallpapers will be included on the phone as well.

Unfortunately the Note 8 Winter Olympics edition phone, like the Galaxy S7 Edge launched for the Rio games back in 2016, will not be available for sale to the general public – so time to get those skates, skis or snow boards on and start improving for the next games.
