This morning I was set to report on another minor leak of the Google Pixel 4, until there was an entire deluge of information leaked in the form of video reviews.

Two YouTube channels, Rabbit TV and AnhEm TV, have somehow accidentally published their video reviews of the Pixel 4 XL.

Although it is unfortunate I do not speak Vietnamese nor Thai and there are no sub-titles, the videos give us a pretty detailed look at a couple of Pixel 4 XLs.

Any readers able to translate 20 minutes of video for us?

It is unclear where Rabbit TV got their hands on a Pixel 4 XL at this stage but we suspect it was from a Vietnamese source which is apparently selling them already — for a pretty heft price:

The videos are shot in 4K so the details on it are great — no longer do we need those 10 second quick videos now that we have these. The videos actually show off all three variants of the Pixel 4 XL with the coral flavour extremely in-your-face vibrant — not very Googley IMO.

For those who do not speak Vietnamese there is not a lot to understand, but the imagery crosses all language barriers and there is a lot to see. The now familiar design is present. The large top bezel is present as expected with an orange power button on the white variant, white button on the coral and black Pixels. The black version looks to have a super glossy fingerprint-magnet rear but the coral and white versions look to be more matte.

The Pixel 4 specific wallpapers are present with a black one, white one and a coral version of the same wallpaper. Quick looks at the operating system show that yes there is a 90Hz display onboard with a system setting called Smooth Display that “dynamically adjusts the refresh rate between 60 and 90HZ”.

We can also see the new camera app interface which shows off a new way of getting into the settings for each image type. Lastly there are camera samples to check out — they have compared the Pixel 4 XL imagery to the Pixel 3 XL and although there is nothing wrong with the Pixel 3 XL photos the Pixel 4’s are even better. See samples and various screenshots of the videos below.

So now that we have these videos, there is still quite a bit that we don’t understand afterall. We can see the pictures and IMO the Pixel 4 XL looks great but HOW does it all work. What is the magic unicorn dust Google have included in the software to improve on its speed and smoothness? Hopefully we get a translated version of the videos which will help reveal a lot more, but sometimes a bit of mystery before the reveal is a good thing.

What is your favourite feature of the Pixel 4 XL you have seen so far? Do you think you will be buying one?

With no fingerprint scanner on the back, is the only way to bring down the notification shade to swipe down from the very top of the screen?

If you enable captions in the second video you’ll get translation in English.
