The 5G Wi-Fi pro is the latest addition to Telstra’s 5G device lists. Like previous pocket Wi-Fi options, the 5G Wi-Fi Pro is also backwards-compatible to “older” (ie. 4G) networks.

The device itself has a 2.4 inch colour touch screen display that offers a lot of useful data. You’ll have a data usage indicator, time left on your billing cycle, battery and signal indicator as well as a message indicator.

For users on the go, there are several connectivity options

  • Gigabit ethernet connection
  • USB connection
  • Wi-Fi 6 for up to 30 connected devices across 2.4 and 5Ghz

The really good news is that it has a 4500mAH battery that supports quick charge, the battery should last up to 9 hours with continuous use. On the surface, this is a solid hardware delivery but the fact it also supports mmWave — once it is available in Australia (there are only a few testing sites live currently) takes it another step forward.

If your mobile hotspot is due for an upgrade, then you can grab one of these beasts now either online or in your local Telstra Store. The hardware will set you back $599 (or $24.95/mth over 24 months) and if you’re Telstra Plus member, there are 100,000 points available if you order online.
