Our constantly connected lives, craving interaction and needing data often lead to sedentary behaviours. That’s one of the reasons that games like Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, Ingress and the crowd favourite; Pokemon Go. Now the developers behind these at Niantic have teamed up with Telstra for a new multiplayer mobile game Codename: Urban Legends.

While the game itself is not yet available, the concept is quite brilliant. You team up with family and friends, to adventure through the great outdoors and battle AR foes together. The Telstra announcement focuses on their expanding 5G coverage map, low latency and of course, speed.

Gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry, so it makes a lot of sense for Australias biggest mobile network provider to team up with such a strong developer. Once more details emerge about the game release timeline and more about the game itself, we’ll be very keen to take a closer look.

What userbase can you see getting involved in Codename: Urban Legends?

Nice looking family fiendly game promo teaser. Shame it’s for what looks like yet another disabled exclusionary product from Niantic.
