It may not be as popular as it once was, but Pokémon Go is still a phenomenon that keeps on kicking. Today, Niantic Labs has announced the latest event for the game, centred around Valentines Day.
The event will see your companion Pokémon earning more Candy for every kilometre you travel, and you’ll also earn more candy every time you catch, hatch, or transfer Pokémon.
While red is the usual colour associated with Valentines Day, the game will be showing more Pink coloured Pokémon in the wild, including more Chansey and Clefable. Eggs hatched during this time will also be more likely to hatch pink Pokémon like Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum.
Finally, the lures you add to Pokéstops will last up to 6 hours for the length of the event.
When does the event start and finish? The event began at 11:00 A.M. PST on February 8, that’s 6am this morning and runs through until 11:00 A.M. PST on February 15 – that’s 6am on February 16th AEDT. If you’re a fan of Pokémon Go, make sure you load it up and catch ’em all while you can.
