Samsung’s rollout of Android Pie has begun in earnest for their flagships of the past couple of years and next to receive the update is the Galaxy Note 8 with users in India and Korea being invited to join the Beta program.

The nearly 2GB update inludes the Android Pie update with Samsung’s new One UI announced at the Samsung developer conference in San Francisco last year. There’s a number of new features included in Android 9.0 (Pie) which Samsung has laid out in the update summary.

At this stage there’s no listing for an update for the Galaxy Note 8 at Telstra, Optus or Vodafone with the last update for the device listed as the December Security update. As the update is still in Beta we can expect carriers to begin testing the update once the Beta is deemed successful, though customers who purchased it outright will get it a little sooner.

Samsung’s Beta for the Galaxy Note 9 Pie update with One UI was fairly brief, so we should hopefully see this appearing on devices around the world soon.
