Back in May, Google announced that they would be adding PayPal to the list of ways you could pay for items in Google Play. Unfortunately at the time, just 12 countries made it into the list, but Australia wasn’t one of them. Today, Google has updated their support page and added a further six countries and Australia is at the top of the list.
Google Play customers in Greece, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore and Sweden will also have the option as well. The option to use PayPal should show up under ‘Payment Options’ when you go to purchase items in Google Play as you see below, but it doesn’t appear to be there just yet.
PayPal is a simpler option for some people to use as opposed to adding credit cards to Google Play, so perhaps this will encourage some more sales.
Can you see the option to pay with PayPal in Google Play? Do you prefer using PayPal over Google Wallet?
Can’t seem to add it on the webstore and doesn’t show up on my HTC One yet
“Uh oh. There was a problem.
Error retrieving information from server.”
You’re not alone.
Just been able to add it on the webstore. Haven’t checked on my phone if the option is there yet.
