Mail clients have received a lot of attention in recent weeks, with Google introducing Inbox, as well as updating the Gmail app for Android in the lead-up to the release of Lollipop. But not everyone uses Gmail and Yahoo has been a long-running competitor, and has introduced a new app in Australia in partnership with 7, introducing a raft of new features.
The update now allows you to receive real-time news and weather updates, as well as financial inforamtion and just beautiful images, as well as allowing you access to your mail. It’s designed to give you a stream of pertinent information that is tailored specifically to you and your interests.
The app has a new look to accomodate these new streams of information. Consisting of a centralised hub, the app also has two new tabs which point to Yahoo7 content which deliver your news, weather and stock information. As well as appearing in the slide-out navigation menu.
It’s a new way to get information, and with Google now allowing you to access your Yahoo mailbox from their Gmail app, Yahoo is under pressure to provide something a little different.
