Crowdfunding is a massive business these days. We have Pozible in Australia, but on a more global front the big names are of course Kickstarter and Indiegogo and the latter has this week launched their own Android app to help you check out all the projects.

After releasing their iOS app earlier this year, Indiegogo has now released the Android version and from the look of the app it’s been redesigned specifically for Android from the ground up. The app is pretty well designed, including elements of Material Design, giving the feeling that Indiegogo really care about the Android version of their app. It’s quite an easy to navigate app as well, so it’s definitely worth a look, although the lack of a tablet mode leaves room for improvement in future versions.

Functionality wise, the app has the ability to do many of the things you’d want to on a crowd funding site. Once you log in you can follow and check out all the projects on the site, including following by category. If a project catches your eye you can help by contributing to it or sharing it with your friends.

From the App description:

  • Discover new campaigns through personalized recommendations
  • Follow your favorite campaigns
  • Explore campaign perks
  • Share specific campaigns with friends

The Indiegogo app is now available for free in Google Play for devices running Android 4.1 and above.

I’ve been using it for a few days. It’s a good app for its first public release. Just like all apps, I wish it had Google login. I’m a broken record.
