Earlier this month, we reported that SEGA was looking at removing an unspecified number of Games from Google Play (and the iOS App Store) in which the company said at the time no longer met its standards for quality and sadly didn’t go into any detail of which titles would be removed.
Well it seems that the company has now provided details on which games have been removed from their respective app stores and the list isn’t too bad for Android users when compared to iOS users.
The list of games removed from Google Play:
- After Burner Climax
- Jet Set Radio
- Super Monkey Ball 2
While the iOS titles which have been removed from the App Store include:
- After Burner Climax
- Altered Beast
- Ecco the Dolphin
- Golden Axe
- Golden Axe 2
- Golden Axe 3
- Streets of Rage 2
- Phantasy Star 2
- Sega Columns Deluxe
- Space Harrier 2
- Streets of Rage 3
- Super Monkey Ball
- Super Monkey Ball 2
- Super Monkey Ball 2: Sakura Edition
- Virtua Fighter 2
- Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Guide
Of course, this isn’t the first time that SEGA has pulled some of its mobile titles from online stores. Games like The House of the Dead: Overkill – The Lost Reels and Zaxxon Escape were removed from sale after they launched.
SEGA has said both previously and currently that the removed games may return “in an updated form” but what that means exactly or the timeline for this to occur or which titles will make a comeback is anyone guess.
