GMail is an ever evolving app on Android, the last big update saw support for Microsoft and Yahoo Mail added, and today Gmail is adding OAuth support for these accounts.
OAuth is an industry standard token based authentication system, which adds an extra layer of security to accessing your mail. This OAuth update for Microsoft and Yahoo opens the door for a number of extra features, primarily Two-Factor Authentication, and Account recovery.
There’s the usual bug fixes and performance improvements includeded as well, but OAuth is the major update here. The update is rolling out to users through Google Play, so keep an eye out for the prompt to update.
