Businesses processing credit card transactions have been given a new way to do it, with the launch of the ANZ ‘FastPay Next Generation’ card reader and app, this time with support for both Android and iOS.

The previous FastPay solution was for iOS only, but with FastPay Next Generation there’s an app in Google Play for that. The FastPay solution is only for ANZ business account holders, allowing them to process credit card, debit and EFTPOS payments on your smartphone or tablet, with ANZ promising same day transaction settlement before 6.30pm AEST/AEDT into your linked ANZ business account.

ANZ FastPay Next Generation gives you a card reader, as well as app, the card reader plugs into your Android device in the 3.5mm headphone jack. The app, which is available from Google Play for devices running Android 4.3 and above takes you through the setup and use of the card reader.

Once setup the app lets you accept payments from Visa, Mastercard and EFTPOS cards, with the option to send receipts directly to your customers by email and SMS.

There’s obviously costs associated with processing card payments, as well as a $130 cancellation fee if you want to stop using FastPay Next Generation. The costs per transaction are laid out in the FAQ on the FastPay Next Generation website.

If you’re interested in learning more or signing up, you can head over to the ANZ FastPay Next Generation website to read more, or check out the app in Google Play.
