microsoft send app - collage

Earlier this year, Microsoft debuted their latest app from their skunkworks lab ‘Garage’, called Send. The app is a cross platform app that sends both texts and emails to your contacts on your smartphone and they’ve now launched a beta app onto Google Play, though it’s fairly limited.

Though the app sounds great, it’s also being released to a fairly limited pool of users with Microsoft announcing the app is only available for users in the U.S, Canada, the UK, Brazil and Denmark, but has further limited it even in those markets by restricting it to customers with an Office 365 business or education account.

The company states this move will enable even more people can take advantage of Sendโ€™s simple, quick text message-like experience when connecting with coworkers, customers and classmates on the go.

The company says they have listened to customers feedback about the original version of the app in which they have made the app even more useful for users by including the ability to delete conversations, add people to conversations, send direct messages to people from a group conversation, share your location, make a phone call and more. There has also been support added for GIF animations within the app as well.

Send is only available again to the U.S. and Canada, UK, Brazil and Denmark markets within Google Play and can only run on Android devices running 4.2 and up. There is sadly no word on whether the Australian Android users will see Microsoft’s Send Text and Email app and we will certainly be keeping an eye out for any further developments or news about the app coming here to Australia. Till then we can only wait in anticipation…….. or not.

Does it log everything you type and send it back to Microsoft Windows 10 style? I’m staying away from this.

Yes, and it also comes with a free tinfoil hat.
